All About Me
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-CP) who is passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of life, loss and trauma. I value the unique strengths, life experiences, and insights that encompass you and your story. I am dedicated to helping clients process their own stories and uncover how their unique thoughts and beliefs have impacted the way that they experience the world. While I have specific expertise in treating sexual trauma, I am also skilled in working with individuals and couples who are experiencing a variety of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions.
Through a collaborative, compassionate, and genuine therapeutic approach, I will empower you to take an active role in your journey of growth and self-discovery. Because each person is unique, I will work with you to identify the effective therapeutic interventions that resonate most with you and your values.
On a more personal note, I am a mother to two daughters. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends at the beach or simply soaking up the beautiful weather here in Charleston. I truly believe that my experience as a mother, daughter, friend, wife, and fellow human, allows me to value each client's background, story, and needs.
Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, especially if you are not sure exactly where you want to go, but you know that you do not want to stay "here". I consider it an immense honor for my clients to let me sit with them in the difficult moments and celebrate with them in the joyful ones. Healing isn't linear; and I look forward to walking alongside each client on their journey to hope and healing; wherever that may lead.
Education
I received my Master's degree in Social Work with a concentration in clinical mental health from the University of Maryland. Since graduating with my Master's, I have earned my independent social work license. I am also an approved clinical supervisor through the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners for social workers who are working towards their independent licensure. I appreciate the opportunity to mentor clinicians because it continues to help me keep my skills fresh, gain new perspectives, and share my passion for this field of work with others.
